IEEE Students' Technology Symposium is an annual event conceptualized by IEEE Kharagpur Section and Student Branch, IIT Kharagpur. The 2011 IEEE TechSym was the second version of this event and was held at IIT Kharagpur, India. Conceptualized as an event for nurturing the talent of students and young professionals, it is more than a technical festival or a student paper contest. This version of the symposium hosted professionally-managed events consisting of oral and poster sessions showcasing original contributions from students and young professionals, with subsequent publications through IEEEXplore Digital Library.

We also provided ample opportunities of learning from veterans of the trade through Plenary and Keynote Sessions and Workshops held in parallel through the period of 14-16 January 2011. The symposium had received 196 submissions till the extended deadline which closed on 28 September 2010. A total of 15 Track Chairs, 130 Reviewers, and 8 Meta-Reviewers worldwide participated in the review process during 28 September - 14 November 2010. Finally 44 papers were selected for Oral presentation and 26 papers were selected for Poster sessions.
