About NSSC

    The IEEE Nagpur Subsection Congress is an annual flagship program hosted by Nagpur Subsection.
    The second edition of IEEE NSSC aims to cater and provide some surreal platforms for the students and professionals alike of varied spectrum of interests to showcase and nurture their talent in the respective fields. IEEE NSSC is an annual event which creates a pool of industry leaders, scholars, professionals, and students to come under one roof and share some vital knowledge amongst each other. We planned to provide attendees with substantial, real-life examples of all sorts of domain of Entrepreneurial, Innovative world, Professional world, Research, Administrative domains, Social segments which will help them improve their interpersonal and professional skills.
    Reputed speakers from academia and the industry provided insights into the aforementioned domains using their work and experience. In collaboration with them, the congress creates a prolific environment for its members to share the best practices in technology, and also spread awareness about the various benefits provided by IEEE.

Objective

    The objectives of the IEEE Nagpur Subsection Congress are as follows:
    • Enhance a tight relationship between Student and Corporate Professionals as the future generation,time members as expertise to boost the young leaders professionalism
    • Encourage participants to collaborate and synergize between them for society development
    • Provide a platform for IEEE volunteers from different SBs to network, interact and learn from the volunteers
    • Train IEEE volunteers from different Student Branches about IEEE activities, best practices, methodologies.
    • Take back learnings from the Congress to implement in their student branches.

Programs Under NSSC'19


DAY 1

      Digital Economy

      The first session of the day commenced by Mr. Arvind Kumar on Digital Economy and its impact on the society and how the engineering undergraduate can make most out of it . The delegates were intrigued about the topic of the session .




      Brainstorming

      This was followed by an brainstorming session by Mr. Dhanukumar Pattanashetti on IEEE Xplore:Digital library driving innovation . This session focused on how the IEEE Xplore is a powerful tool for the IEEE members and how it can be used for driving innovation in education .



      THE CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION SESSION

      The creativity and innovation session was a really interesting and a new type of session . This session was designed to give the delegates a more hands on experience on how to build something with scrap material. This session was targeted at forming better connection between the delegates and improving the leadership quality in them. We included brownie points on team who interacted well with each other. The 1.5 hour session included mentoring of delegates and they were provided with materials to build a vacuum cleaner out of these materials.


      Creating Chatbots with PYTHON

      The NSSC served the delegate with another interesting hands on workshop by Mr. Mahesh Rakheja on “Creating Chatbots with PYTHON”. The workshop was very detailed and technical. It was a 2 hour workshop where Mr. Mahesh taught the delegates with the basics of python in a very interesting way and taught them how to build a chatbot out of it.


      Introduction to IEEE PES

      There was a session by Mr. John Benedict titled, Introduction to IEEE PES and various IEEE Opportunities. The session was all about how IEEE provides volunteering, funding and leadership opportunities for all its members. The session further focused on how IEEE and its various boards are looking for volunteers with leadership and organizational skills to impact the future.

DAY 2

      Importance of Professional Bodies

      The first session of the second day of NSSC was delivered by Mr. Nivas Ravichandran who focused on the importance of Professional Bodies in the process of career growth. Being an IEEE Young Professional himself, Nivas’ session was a perfect exposure for the students to gather information about the professional bodies and specifically IEEE.


      In this age of Corporate World

      This session was followed by a riveting talk by Mr. Kuldeep Rana. In this age of Corporate World, Mr. Rana made the delegates aware of the Corporate Structure and the process in which the corporate world works in reality. Being a tech savvy himself he gave an insight of IT Corporate Sector, the ways to succeed and become successful in professional career. Having worked in companies such as TCS and Infosys, he shared some of his valuable experience which was perceived by the audience and delegates in a very enthusiastic manner.

      Importance of Professional Bodies

      The dynamic duo of Hitesh Goyal and Shashank Arya graced the Congress with their expertise in the field of Business Intelligence. The session was about the importance of this field in the current technological industry. Both, working employees of Infocepts (Business Analytics firm) threw light on the future career perspectives in this field and also explained some of the insights.


      In this age of Corporate World

      One of the dynamic volunteers of IEEE Kerala Section Mr. Sahil Sameer was present at the Congress to share his experiences about the efforts put in by IEEE Kerala Section as an organization to rescue the flood hit state of Kerala in 2018. This session inspired the delegates to whole new extent as the experiences that he shared was something that was unexpected and novel.




      This was then followed by one of the most entertaining yet useful session by Mr. Hitesh Dewani. This session was about the comparisons made between good and right career options which lie in front of the students nowadays. Mr. Dewani also focused on the journey of a student after making career choices and the eventual destination. This session proved to be one of the vital sessions of the Congress as most of the delegates present there were at the stage where they were required to make life changing

      Another dedicated IEEE Volunteer and a working professional, Mr. Shivam Abhilash was there to share his expertise in the field of Machine Learning and its use in Medical Image Processing. He provided some valuable knowledge to the delegates of the Congress about the use of Automation for disease recognition and other medical purposes. This session was quite riveting as the delegates got to learn about a field which for many was unknown.

      CRAZY IDEA PRESENTATION

      The Congress also had some very interesting and exciting games as part of the networking time provided to the delegates. One such game was, Crazy Idea Presentation wherein the delegates were accommodated into mixed groups of different colleges and given a problem statement. The various groups which were formed came up with fascinating and captivating solutions which were quiet unique in nature. The whole competition was moderated by Mr. Shubham Gupta, Secretary SAC, IEEE Bombay Section. This competition gave the delegates an opportunity to develop a great network among the students of different colleges thereby developing team building skills and other interpersonal skills.

      CULTURAL NIGHT

      IEEE Nagpur Subsection Congress 2019 also organised a scintillating Cultural Night where in participants from different colleges showcased their states’ culture and tradition in the form of dance / music and various other performances. The Cultural Night attracted large audience and was a great success. The students from Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus, Bhilai won the competition. The judgment of the competition was based on voting which was taken on Instagram platform. There were around 8 performances in the cultural night and the whole program was a grand success.

DAY 3

      EXCURSION TO RAMTEK

      IEEE Nagpur Subsection Congress also included an excursion for outstation delegates to Ramtek. A total of 50 delegates were included in the trip. This trip was a great experience for the delegates as they got an opportunity to witness one of the famous places of Nagpur. The excursion also included lunch for the delegates at a very scenic place near Ramtek. The delegates appreciated the efforts of the team in planning the trip and they enjoyed to the fullest. The excursion proved to be a befitting end to the IEEE Nagpur Subsection Congress 2019.
