IEEE Communications Society Xi'an Chapter Inauguration

  On June 18, 2008, a new IEEE ComSoc chapter—Xi’an Chapter was approved by IEEE Region 10 Director Janina Mazierska.

     Prof. Jiandong LI, Xidian University, was elected as the Chapter Chair and Prof. Guizhong LIU, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Prof. Kehu YANG, Xidian University, are elected as Vice Chairs for Membership development and Treasurer respectively.

    The Chapter Inauguration was held on Dec. 15, 2008. There are two talks on the inauguration: one entitled “Efficient high-performance MIMO detection using semidefinite relaxation”, given by Wing-Kin Ma, an assistant professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The other entitled “Cooperative resource management of intensive wireless networks”, given by Zhisheng Niu, a professor of Tsinghua University. Prof. Yao HAO (The vice president of Xidian University), Prof. Zhisheng NIU(the Region 10 director of IEEE ComSoc), Prof Jianguo HUANG(the IEEE Xi’an Section Chair) gave their congratulations. The Chapter Chair Jiandong LI gave a presentation on the history of IEEE Communication Society and the future plan of the Chapter.

    More than 60 people including part of the members of the Chapter attended the inauguration.
