The theme of this year's banquet is emerging trends in renewable and sustainable energy. Barry K. Worthington, Executive Director of the United States Energy Association, will share his views on emerging areas of energy investment in the U.S., and the role that IEEE and electrical engineers might play in implementation of new technologies. Live jazz music will be provided by The Saints of Sound Jazz Quintet, featuring members and alumni of the St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School Jazz Ensemble. These talented young musicians performed at the 2008 IEEE NCA Awards Banquet, where they appeared as the McLeod-Miller Jazz Quintet.

Following the keynote address, an awards ceremony will recognize the contributions of volunteers, the achievements of science fair and history contest winners, and the accomplishments of newly-elected 2010 IEEE Fellows. The banquet will end at approx. 10:30 p.m.
