Barry K. Worthington, Executive Director of the United States Energy Association, will share his views on emerging areas of energy investment in the U.S., and the role that IEEE and electrical engineers might play in implementation of new technologies.
Worthington has directed USEA’s domestic and international activities since 1988. Previously, he served as a vice president of the Thomas Alva Edison Foundation, and prior to that served in several capacities with Houston Lighting & Power Company, now known as Center Point.
He has written extensively on energy and environmental matters, and he addresses many conferences on national and international energy issues. He serves on the boards of the National Energy Foundation, U.S.-China Energy Environment Center, and the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation.
He holds an M.S. from the University of Houston’s Studies of the Future Program, and a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University, where he studied environmental relations.
USEA is an association of public and private energy-related organizations, corporations and government agencies. It represents the broad interests of the U.S. energy sector by increasing the understanding of energy issues, both domestically and internationally.
