This year's event will kick off with exhibits and a cash bar at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and keynote address at 8 p.m. The banquet will conclude with an awards ceremony honoring the achievements of our exceptional volunteers, who have contributed to IEEE's success.
The evening will be highlighted by guest speaker Dr. Pedro (Pete) Rustan, Deputy Director of Military Support at the National Reconnaissance Office, who will discuss the implications of physics on technological progress, and the role that IEEE and electrical engineers might play in moving forward as a nation.
Dr. Rustan has published more than 40 scientific papers in the open literature in spacecraft design, digital signal processing, control system design, biomedical engineering, lightning physics and streamlined program management. He is a dedicated advocate for intelligence community integration, rapid prototyping and selecting the best value proposition to address intelligence needs. Dr. Rustan received B.S.E.E and M.S.E.E. degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago in 1969 and 1970 respectively. He received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Florida in 1979.
