Awards Banquet Report

The awards banquet was held on Saturday March 25 at the 4th Fighter Group WW II Theme Restaurant and was a great success. We had a total of 53 attendees and gave out a total of 21 awards. The evening’s events also featured a multimedia presentation by Astronaut and UCF professor Dr. Samuel Durrance entitled “Planet Earth: an Astronauts View.“

This year’s Orlando Section and Florida Council award recipients were:

  • Orlando Section Outstanding graduate student: Roy Villafane
  • Orlando Section Outstanding undergraduate student: Nattorn Pongratananukul
  • Orlando Section Outstanding undergraduate student: Bobby Harris

In addition, 11 distinguished Orlando Section members were presented with IEEE Millennium Medals in recognition of their many years of service to the IEEE and the profession. The Millennium Medal award recipients were:
