- IEEE/ABET Will Host Two Training
Workshops at ASEE Annual Convention

- On 18 June 2000, at the Adam's Mark Hotel,
- St. Louis, MO, the IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB)
will hold two
- educational workshops during the American Society for
Engineering Education
- (ASEE) annual conference. Both the new Accreditation Board for
Engineering
- and Technology (ABET) Engineering Criteria 2000 and the
classic Engineering
- Technology Criteria will be presented at simultaneous all day
workshops.

- The EC-2000 Training Workshop is co-sponsored by the Committee
on
- Engineering Accreditation Activities (CEAA). The purpose of
this workshop
- is to train IEEE members serving as program evaluators and
department heads
- under the new ABET Engineering Criteria 2000. Full
implementation of the
- new criteria is due Fall 2001.

- The Engineering Technology Workshop is co-sponsored by the
Committee on
- Technology Accreditation Activities (CTAA). During this
workshop, IEEE
- members who serve as program evaluators and department heads
will be taught
- the classic ABET Engineering Technology Criteria.

- Both workshops will take place from 8:30 to 5:30 p.m., with a
lunch break
- from 12:30 to 1:30. Registration and a continental breakfast
will be held
- from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The cost for each workshop to non-IEEE
Evaluators
- is $200.00 in advance, and $250.00 at the door.
