WHO'S IN CHARGE HERE?

We can't be sure -- if you haven't told us! Please make sure that you
have reported your new officers to IEEE Headquarters. If you have not yet
done so, please submit your reporting on the web at www.ieee.org/ra/scs
(click on "Required Reporting" and look for the "Officer Confirmation"
link). We look forward to hearing from you!

ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER BEST PRACTICES REQUESTED

IEEE staff recently attended a Region meeting and learned that several
Sections in that Region have gone "all-electronic" with their Section
newsletter. We have had inquiries from Sections in other Regions as to how
to do this in an effective and efficient way. If you have gone
all-electronic, please contact Tracy Hawkins with information about the
process you used to accomplish this. If you are interested in going
all-electronic, contact Tracy to receive the best practices from the
Sections who have already succeeded in this endeavor. Tracy's email
address is t.hawkins@ieee.org.

IEEE HISTORICAL RESOURCES FOR MEMBERS

Are you looking to promote the history of information and electrical
technologies in articles, brochures or advertisements? The IEEE History
Center can help. Here are some of the available resources:

· More than 5,000 historical photos

· Over 380 oral histories of individuals who have made important
contributions to their fields, as well as significant IEEE members and
employees

· An archive of unpublished records of the IEEE and its predecessor
societies

· An historical reference service

For more information, visit www.ieee.org/organizations/history_center/, or
contact Rob Colburn, IEEE History Center, at r.colburn@ieee.org.

You may also be interested in visiting Spectrum Online at
www.spectrum.ieee.org to see This Week in Electrical History. This new
feature informs readers about innovations in technology. Introduced on 1
May, it documents the important, surprising, and creative milestones in
electrotechnology history. Readers can click on links to other web pages
for in-depth coverage of key events. A different set of innovations and
anniversaries is posted every week.

WHAT'S NEW?

IEEE is proud to announce the expansion of the "What's New @ IEEE"

"What's New @ IEEE" is an opt-in email newsletter service that provides
monthly updates on IEEE activities, technology trends, career development
tips, member benefits, upcoming conferences and new products.

The new newsletters are:

"What's New @ IEEE for Members"

"What's New @ IEEE for Graduates of the Last Decade"

"What's New @ IEEE in Circuits"

"What's New @ IEEE in Communications"

"What's New @ IEEE in Computing"

"What's New @ IEEE in Power"

"What's New @ IEEE in Signal Processing"

NON-RENEWALS TERMINATED

Twice a year, the IEEE terminates non-renewed memberships. The February
termination covers Regions 1-7, while the April termination covers Regions
8-10. Termination is not as final as it sounds - late renewals for
terminated memberships may be submitted via the web at www.ieee.org, select
the link for renew.

Overall membership increased in February, thanks to dramatic growth outside
the United States. Here is a summary.
