SECTIONS CONGRESS 2002 FAST APPROACHING!

SC 2002 "Creating a Global Community" will be held 18-21 October 2002 at
the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC, USA. Registration packages have
been mailed to all of IEEE's 298 Section Chairs, and an email has been sent
to all of the elected officers of the Sections to make them aware of the
need to identify a primary delegate. SC 2002 will be unlike any other
Congress in that it will feature both administrative officer training and
leadership training for the assembled delegates. For more information,
visit the web page https://www.ieee.org/sc and click on "SC 2002" or email
sc-coordinator@ieee.org

IEEE ANNUAL STATISTICS

Volunteers and members can access the 2001 Annual Report of the Secretary
and the 2001 Annual Statistics of the IEEE at
https://www.ieee.org/organizations/corporate/secrpt/. Users will need an
IEEE Web account.

ONLINE RESOURCE DIRECTORY TO ASSIST VOLUNTEERS

Maybe the information you need is on the web...but where? An online
directory to help IEEE volunteers obtain information on publishing,
Societies, Sections, Chapters, Student Branches, conferences, standards
development, professional development, and organizational unit board
activities is available at https://www.ieee.org/organizations/vols/.

For more information, contact John Wettlaufer, IEEE Technical Activities,

CALLING IEEE "CHAMPIONS" FOR THE TEACHER IN-SERVICE PROGRAM

Look for The IEEE Educational Activities Board Teacher In-Service Program
for IEEE Sections brochure, which will be included in the regular monthly
mailing of your Section statistics.

Become a "Champion for the Teacher In-Service Program." This Program
features IEEE Section engineers developing and presenting hands-on,
technologically oriented subject matter to local pre-college educators. The
educators take the concepts and activities back to their classrooms and
incorporate it into their instruction. Already 197 teachers have taken a
"class" from Section engineers, and through them over 21,000 students have
been impacted. For further information, contact Douglas Gorham, IEEE EAB
Pre-College Manager, d.g.gorham@ieee.org.

HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL PUBLISHING PARTNERS WITH IEEE

Harvard Business School Publishing (HBSP) has joined the growing list of
premiere university partners of IEEE. HBSP provides selected online courses
at a 10% discount for IEEE members. Currently thirteen courses in
leadership, management, and strategy are being offered to IEEE members
along with one powerful performance resource called Harvard ManageMentor
[registered trade mark].

HBSP courses utilize Harvard Business Review articles, interactive case
studies and expert feedback from instructors. Each course is self-contained
with all the resources you need provided for you online. In one to two
hours at your desktop, you can acquire both new and classic business
concepts to apply immediately to your job.

To assure your discount, enter through the IEEE Educational Activities
Board at https://www.ieee.org/eab/verify/hbsp/verify.htm. You must
pre-register in order to access the course list and see the demonstrations
of each course. The pre-registration in no way obligates you to buy a
course. For more information about the Partners Program, see
https://www.ieee.org/eab/eduPartners.htm, or contact Jason Prue, IEEE
Educational Activities, at j.prue@ieee.org.
