- SECTIONS CONGRESS 2002
FAST APPROACHING!
-
- SC 2002 "Creating a Global Community"
will be held 18-21 October 2002 at
- the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC,
USA. Registration packages have
- been mailed to all of IEEE's 298 Section
Chairs, and an email has been sent
- to all of the elected officers of the
Sections to make them aware of the
- need to identify a primary delegate. SC
2002 will be unlike any other
- Congress in that it will feature both
administrative officer training and
- leadership training for the assembled
delegates. For more information,
- visit the web page https://www.ieee.org/sc
and click on "SC 2002" or email
- sc-coordinator@ieee.org
-

-
- Volunteers and members can access the
2001 Annual Report of the Secretary

- ONLINE RESOURCE

- Maybe the information you need is on the
web...but where? An online
- directory to help IEEE volunteers obtain

- development, professional development,
and organizational unit board
- activities is available at
https://www.ieee.org/organizations/vols/.
-

- CALLING IEEE
"CHAMPIONS" FOR THE TEACHER IN-SERVICE PROGRAM
-
- Look for The IEEE Educational Activities
Board Teacher In-Service Program
- for IEEE Sections brochure, which will
be included in the regular monthly
- mailing of your Section
statistics.
-
- Become a "Champion for the Teacher
In-Service Program." This Program
- features IEEE Section engineers
developing and presenting hands-on,
- technologically oriented subject matter
to local pre-college educators. The
- educators take the concepts and
activities back to their classrooms and
- incorporate it into their instruction.
Already 197 teachers have taken a
- "class" from Section engineers, and
through them over 21,000 students have
- been impacted. For further information,
contact Douglas Gorham, IEEE EAB
- Pre-College Manager, d.g.gorham@ieee.org.
