SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The job of an IEEE Chapter Chair is to manage the operations of the Chapter in the best interest of the local members and to provide leadership, guidance and a sense of purpose for other Chapter volunteers.

A. In possession of and familiar with the IEEE Constitution, Bylaws, Policy Manual, RAB Operations Manual and the Section Bylaws.
B. Identifies appropriate volunteers and presents their appointments to the Chapter Executive Committee for review.
C. Insures that all Chapter Officers and Committee Chairs are properly trained for their jobs.
D. Presides at meetings of the Chapter and the Chapter Executive Committee.
E. Operates the Chapter to maximize satisfaction of Chapter member needs with the resources available.
F. Develops and presents plans for meeting members' needs to the Chapter Executive Committee for review.
G. Insures satisfactory performance from the other Chapter Officers and the Chapter Committee Chairs.
H. Represents the Chapter at all IEEE gatherings.
I. Signs off on financial report where appropriate and confirms all reporting is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
J. Prepares an annual report of Chapter Activities for submission to the Section Secretary, Region, and Society Chapter Coordinators.
K. Transfers Chapter records to the new Chapter Chair at the end of the year.

The primary function of an IEEE Chapter Vice Chair is to assist the Chapter Chair in managing the operations of the Chapter in the best interest of the local members and to provide leadership, guidance and a sense of purpose for other Chapter volunteers.

A. In possession of and familiar with the IEEE Constitution, Bylaws, Policy Manual, RAB Operations Manual and the Section Bylaws.
B. Assist Chapter Chair in operating the Chapter to maximize satisfaction of Chapter member needs with the resources available.
C. Attend all Chapter Executive Committee meetings. In the absence of the Chapter Chair, preside at meetings of the Chapter and the Chapter Executive Committee.
D. In the absence of the Chapter Chair, represent the Chapter at IEEE gatherings.
E. Assist and support the Chair as required / assigned.

The IEEE Chapter Secretary is an integral part of the Chapter’s Executive Committee, with voting rights and privileges in making Chapter decisions. The Secretary manages the records and correspondence of the Chapter. Written summaries of the Chapter activities provide an important record of events and decisions made throughout the year.

A. In possession of and familiar with the IEEE Constitution, Bylaws, Policy Manual, RAB Operations Manual and the Section Bylaws.
B. Attend Chapter Executive Committee meetings.
C. Assist Chapter Chair and other officers in planning a master calendar of activities and meetings.
D. Maintain records of Chapter meetings.
E. Record minutes of all Chapter meetings.
F. Distribute agenda and meeting notices for all Chapter meetings.
G. Submit required annual reports to IEEE Regional Activities Department.
H. Report all Chapter meetings using the proper form.
I. Notify all changes in Chapter Officers. Report election results.
J. Keep a file of capable and interested members for use in obtaining talent for Chapter jobs as required.
