Using Network
Emulation to Optimize Network Performance Speaker: Sameer Gupta, Co-Founder, Anue Systems, Inc. Date: 15th January 2009 Time: 6.30PM - 8.00PM Venue: AT&T Labs, 9505 Arboretum Blvd, Austin, TX 78759 Venue Map (Google Maps) RSVP: Steve Crowl - scrowl@ieee.org Talk Abstract:
Today's enterprises are geographically dispersed, however data is increasingly centralized due to security and operational concerns such as backups. As a result, application performance is highly dependent on the WAN characteristics such as latency, bandwidth, and error rates. In this presentation, we will explore how network emulation can be used to accurately predict application performance, optimize the network equipment selection and configuration, and properly select appropriate network link characteristics for optimizing cost and performance. Speaker Profile: Sameer Gupta is a Co-founder and VP & GM of Professional Services at Anue Systems. Before starting Professional Services at Anue, he served as its VP of Engineering. Prior to Anue, he held ASIC and Systems development positions a number of companies including Agere Systems (Optical Transport ICs), Silicon Graphics (Origin 2000 Servers), and HP Convex Technology Center (Exemplar Servers). Mr. Gupta holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Old Dominion University and a Master's in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University with an emphasis on Computer Architecture. |
