Information for Canadian ECE Students
The IEEE Canadian Foundation has been funding Canadian IEEE Students, Student Branches and their volunteer leaders since 1972. We provide:
  • IEEE Canadian Foundation Scholarships
  • IEEE McNaughton Learning Resource Centres - to establish, or upgrade
  • IEEE Special Grants - for special projects
  • IEEE Canada Power Quality Scholarship - at U of A and U of C
  • IEEE Canada Vehicular Technologies Travel Grant
  • IEEE Canada Vehicular Technologies Research Grant
  • IEEE Canada Women In Engineering Prize
  • IEEE Canadian Foundation Québec Science Fair Prizes
  • IEEE Canada Major Awards - one at present
Learning Resource Centres provide extra quality space for enhanced learning by students through the provision of computer systems (with - for example- scanners, printers, monitoring and control of experiments), robotics laboratories, ham radio stations, tv receive only stations, experimental tools and parts supplies, etc. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.

Foundation Scholarships can cover most of the cost of one-year's tuition for a student who has demonstrated leadership in a Centre.

Special grants can help you fund design competitions, robotics contests, and other application oriented projects.

Student Branch Chairs and other volunteers should plan to attend the annual IEEE Canada Student Branch Workshop and meet the Foundation Treasurer who explains how to apply for Grants and Scholarships and answer your questions. For more information, visit the IEEE Canada Student web site

If you are a member of a student branch executive committe, we ask that you.
- Place a link on your Student Branch web site to www.ieeecanadianfoundation.org and encourage your fellow students to use it to find out how we can help you.
- Update information regularly about your branch using our on-line form.
- Download and use this poster to publicize IEEE activities in Canada.

If you are not yet a student member of IEEE, we urge you to join IEEE. Some of the advantages of IEEE membership are: grants & scholarships; job site registration; an e-mail alias that stays with you as you move; help to understand your planned field of employment, e-mail updates on industry trends and career tips; reduced costs for phone cards and long distance, auto insurance, leadership training as a student branch volunteer, and much more. Why not check out the international IEEE Student web site ?
