Honouring Outstanding Women
In celebration of the 126th anniversary of the IEEE, the IEEE Women in Engineering, IEEE South Africa section will be honouring the achievements and contributions of South Africa's outstanding men and women in the field of Science, Engineering and Technology (SET). Winners of awards for contributions to SET will be honoured during the WiE Annual General Meeting. The IEEE WiE South Africa will provide motivation for award recipients in their application for IEEE WiE international awards. We hereby call upon IEEE members to send in nominations for the awards listed below:
IEEE WiE Female Academic / Researcher of the yearShe has contributed significantly to SET related research and has worked primarily in either Academia or as a Researcher in South Africa for at least two years.
She has contributed significantly to industrial development or project management in SET related fields and has at least two years of work experience in the industry in South Africa.
He/she has been involved in community service and contributed significantly to human capital development in South Africa for at least the past 2 years.
A 300-word write up as motivation of the nominee's eligibility for the award including the nominee's contributions to, or relevant achievements within SET in South Africa for at least the past 2 years (e.g. publications, inventions, community service, etc) should be included on the nomination form.
Self-nomination is allowed.
