About Us
The idea and the mobilization to create the "Amazon" Joint Chapter started in 2005 and finally, in January of 2008 at Belém - Pará - (North) Brazil, the BRASILIA SPCMTTCOMPE Joint Chapter was created and later called "Amazon" Joint Chapter for shortly. The chapter includes five IEEE societies: Signal Processing Society, Computer Society, Microwave Theory and Techniques, Communications Society and Power Engineering Society.
The mission of this chapter is to serve Electrical Engineers, Computer Engineers and Computer Scientists in North and Central West regions from Brazil.Our objective is also to increase the action of IEEE by holding meetings and activities in the region in order to improve the know-how and exchange experiences of its members and colleagues with others IEEE members.
