SHORT DESCRIPTION
- Research at the National Research Council's (NRC) Institute for Biodiagnostics focusses on the early, accurate, and non-invasive diagnosis of serious health conditions affecting Canadians --conditions such as breast, prostate, colon, and skin cancers, arthritis, heart disease, and neurological disorders. The Institute's research activities are based on the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS), infrared imaging and spectroscopy, and bio-informatics. Researchers and medical professionals use these powerful technologies to detect, diagnose, and treat diseases. Research is carried out in collaboration with physicians, hospitals and other research groups in Canada and around the world.
