Reza A. Heidari

Dr. Reza A. Heidari has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and MSc and BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran. He has a track record of research and development in signal and image processing technologies in industry and academia, and the interdisciplinary applications of such methods in imaging, sensing, and telecommunications. He is the author of several scientific papers and patents.

Dr. Heidari founded PluraPix Inc. in 2012, to develop advanced Terahertz imaging systems for scientific and industrial applications. He has been with T-Ray Science (currently Verisante Technology, TSX:VRS-V) since the early stages of the company, until its IPO and thereafter. He worked on THz imaging and spectroscopy systems, aimed at early-stage skin cancer detection, and signal reconstruction in pulsed THz systems and integrated circuits, also the development of a microwave sensing product for detection of counterfeit tablets. He has also been with Ignis Innovation as a principal scientist working on enhancement and defect analysis systems for active matrix displays.

Dr. Heidari is a Senior Member of IEEE, and a member of SPIE, The International Society for Optics and Photonics. He has been acting as a reviewer for several journals and conferences. He is also currently pursuing an MBA degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Wilfrid Laurier University.
