OBJECTIVE: The mission of IEEE WIE is to facilitate the global recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines. It envisions a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity. IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists and inspiring girls around the world to follow their academic interests to a career in engineering.
IEEE Student Branch, MVSREC inaugurated its newly formed In Engineering (WIE) affinity group on 31st August,2013.
WIE Affinity Group, is a sister organisation of IEEE established for the cause of encouraging women into engineering and education. Since its initiation, it has been the working force behind the development of women engineers and It has also been an organisation which worked for the society.
WIE AG of IEEE MVSREC SB, since its initiation has provided thrust to the careers of all the women engineers of MVSREC, both professionally and personally. It has become a well settled and professional organisation under the aegis of IEEE MVSREC SB, conducting several student beneficial events efficiently.
Becoming a member of WIE AG just requires an IEEE Student membership. You are served with free membership of WIE AG once you avail the IEEE membership.
Once a member of WIE AG, you become eligible for many membership benefits which include, fee concessions to WIE seminars and conferences, volunteering oppurtunity for WIE STAR and newsletters of WIE. WIE star is a social oriented program conducted by WIE AG annually, this program mainly focusses on improving education levels at the undergraded schools which lack proper teaching facility. Sessions are conducted by student volunteers of WIE AG to the school students, and you can be one of them too!
