I want to renew my membership, change my subscriptions, and modify my society affiliations. How do I do this?
A:

All current society memberships and subscriptions are highlighted in the Web renewal process along with associated dues and fees. You will also have quick, one-click access to IEEE Standards Association, Women in Engineering, and Society offerings.

How do I update my address and other contact information?
A:

Use the renewal application to make address changes, add a second address or give us your home and work phone number, fax number or email address. You can tell us where to direct your bills or where to mail your publications.

What is the IEEE membership year?
A:

The IEEE membership year is January to December. By October, members are notified regarding renewing memberships for the following year.

 

Q:
What is the IEEE personal use policy?
A:

Subscriptions purchased by IEEE members at the member price are intended for members' personal use only.

How does IEEE use the information collected in the audit
information section?
A:

The audit information collected by the IEEE is used to verify magazine circulation. You can choose whether your name will be included in the IEEE Membership Directory and/or released to other engineering and related organizations.

How is the technical interest information used ?
A:

This information is used to understand and meet the technical and professional needs of IEEE members. This information is used to gives you one-click access to update your IEEE technical interest information. Our database will hold up to five areas of interest allowing us a better understanding of your professional needs.

Is paying for my renewal online safe ?
A:

Yes. IEEE conducts secure and private credit card transactions using Verisign's Payflow payment services (formerly Cybercash).

 

Q:
Will I receive a separate receipt after renewing online?
A:

No. Print your IEEE Web Renewal receipt. It provides a summary of the information you submitted. Print this page and save it for your records. This is your official receipt for your annual membership renewal. Please make a note of your Web renewal reference number. You should refer to this number in all correspondence relating to your renewal.

When will I receive my membership card?
A:

Your membership card will be sent out within three weeks. Once you complete your renewal, it will be transmitted immediately to the IEEE for processing.

 

Q:
Is my renewal tax-deductible?
A:

IEEE member dues, assessments, Society dues, and subscriptions to IEEE publications may be tax-deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses for U.S. members (subject to IRS guidelines). No portion of member dues are allocable to non-deductible lobbying expenditures. You may wish to consult a tax advisor. After I renew my membership online, can I go back and add services or publications at a later time?
A:

After you renew your membership, you can go to the Add Services page at any time to add society memberships, membership options, or subscriptions to your membership. To delete services, contact
IEEE Member Services.

Q:

Are there special air freight services for members outside North America?

A:

Air freight service is available to all subscribers outside the USA, Canada and Mexico. Air freight will save 6 to 7 weeks delivery time to Europe, and from two to five months to South America and the Far East (see surface mail delivery estimates below).

Air freight is not available for prior year subscriptions or replacement issues. Estimated delivery times for surface mail are:

  • United States, Puerto Rico & Canada: 7 - 14 Days
  • All other areas: 14- 30 Days

Local Delivery within country might extend the above quoted delivery times.
