A Student Branch is a basic operating organizational unit of IEEE constituted by IEEE Student members at a particular college university or technical institute. Today there are more than 1100 student branches of the IEEE in the world. Their mission is to provide undergraduate and graduate students who have an interest in the Electrical and Electronics or related engineering professions with opportunities for educational, technical and professional development in preparation for entry into the profession.
The International Islamic University IEEE Student branch was founded in October 2005 and officially registred in May 2006. Today, the student branch constitutes of over 30 member (both undergraduate and postgraduate) from the various departments in the Faculty of Engineering.
The IEEE IIUM student branch is setup to expose the IEEE student members of the International Islamic University Malaysia to the latest technological advancements, projects and journals in their various fields of study by conducting various educational activities that will be of great impact in their future career.
