The University of New Hampshire at Manchester is located in one of the historic mill buildings along the Merrimack River. UNH Manchester offers its students the upper two years of a bachelors of science in electrical engineering technology and also computer technology.
The engineering section at UNH Manchester has its own building, but is within close walking distance of the rest of the University. There is not a huge group of full time students which is a big plus when it comes to interaction between the professors and students.
Most of the students entering the engineering programs at UNH Manchester received their associate degree from the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord. Because of this, the UNH Manchester student branch has teamed up with the NHTI student branch. This brings connectivity to the two branches and allows members a smooth transition from one to the other.
Two of our main focuses as an IEEE student branch are to network with other engineers in the NH area and keep up-to-date with new technologies. We aim to accomplish these goals by attending IEEE meetings with engineering professionals and by touring local facilities. We also have the monthly input from the IEEE “Spectrum” and “Potentials” publications.
