Although there is much conversation on American fraternities, and the impact of these Boys Clubs on our society: for instance Michael Eisner's Delta Upsilon; we are for one, not one of these organizations. We exist as a professional sub-association, as a lead up to IEEE, which stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. IEEE is the publisher, of other medals, of the Edison Medal, of which former winners have included George Westinghouse (the inventor of the rotary steam engine), Alexander Graham Bell (the inventor of the telephone), and Nikola Tesla (the inventor of the alternating current). It is on top of the shoulders of these giants upon which we stand.
