The 2009 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting,
IAS 2009, will address the technical interests related to the
industrial applications of electrical energy. Papers are solicited on
this subject, especially studies pertaining to the scope of the
participating Technical Committees of the IEEE Industry Applications
Society, as listed below. Abstracts and digests (or full papers in the
case of the Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Department) should
be submitted to the relevant Technical Committee Program Chair.
Industrial and
Commercial Power Systems Department
Papers are solicited that relate to: the control, monitoring, and management of electrical energy systems, including power generation systems, for use in industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities; the design, equipment application, analysis, installation, grounding, operation, and maintenance of safe and reliable power systems, including emergency and standby systems, for industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities; power system protection; and, electrical codes, rules, guides and standards affecting the design, installation or maintenance of these industrial and commercial electrical power systems. Full papers (not abstracts and digests) submitted to: Technical Committee Program Chair: T. David Mills, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, Bldg. 707-38B, Room 8, Aiken, SC 29808 USA, 803 952 8295, 803 952 8453 (FAX), e-mail : d.mills@ieee.org. Manufacturing Systems Development and Applications Department Industrial Automation and Control Committee Papers are solicited that address the applications of industrial electrical and electronic control devices, systems, and methods to the conversion, regulation and utilization of electricity for the control of industrial processes, machinery and heating; methods of advanced and intelligent controls and motion control systems; and, advanced sensors and monitoring systems. Abstracts and
digests should be sent to: Technical
Committee Program Chair: Prof. Marcelo Godoy Simoes, Colorado School of Mines, 1610
Illinois St., Golden, CO 80401-1887, USA, tel:

Mining Industry Committee Papers are solicited which relate to all mining and related operations. Abstracts and digests should be sent to: Technical Committee Program Chair: Dr. Galina Mirzaeva, CRC Mining Research Academic, EF06 School of EE&CS, The University of Newcastle, University Drive, Callaghan, Authors' Deadlines: January 15, 2009: Abstract and digest of proposed papers from authors received by
the Technical Committee Program Chairs. Full manuscripts
received by the Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Department.
March 31, 2009: Notification to authors of acceptance or rejection from the Technical Committee Program Chairs. June 1, 2009: Manuscripts of accepted papers, formatted for publication in the Conference Record, submitted to Manuscript Central, together with completion of the IEEE electronic copyright transfer. General Abstract & Digest Requirements: Digest: Up to four pages, including key equations, figures, and tables, headed by the paper title only. The digest must state: purpose of work, manner in which it advances engineering and/or science, and specific results and their significance in sufficient detail for undergoing a review process. Electronic submissions only (Adobe Postscript (.pdf) or Microsoft Word (.doc)). As the digest is used for anonymous reviews, the digest should not include the authors' names, and the abstract and digest must be submitted as two separate files. Each paper that is scheduled for presentation must be accompanied by a qualified paid registration. In general, student registrations are not considered qualified registrations. Also, each qualifying registration may be associated with at most two papers. Once presented, papers are eligible for review and publication in the IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications or IEEE Industry Applications Magazine. Please note that not all IAS Technical Committees have sessions at the IAS Annual Meeting. If a committee contact is not given in this call for papers, please contact the appropriate IAS Technical Committee or Department Chair. |
