The BalkanLight 2018 is the 7th Balkan Light Conference, a conference which takes place every 3 years and serves as a main Balkan and International forum on the field of lighting engineering. Previous BalkanLight conferences have been held in the following years and locations:

1999 – Varna, Bulgaria

2002 – Istanbul, Turkey

2005 – Cluj Napoca, Romania

2008 – Ljubljana, Slovenia

2012 – Belgrade, Serbia

2015 – Athens, Greece

2018 – Varna, Bulgaria, The conference will be under the auspices of 50 years CIE–NCBG (1968-2018)

Call for paper description

The conference provides an ideal place for researchers to present the latest research activities and describe recent and emerging developments and directions in the field of lighting and lighting technologies. It aims at getting together researchers to exchange and share their experience and research results within (but not limited) to the following topics:

  • Lighting technology (lamps, luminaires, lighting controls)
  • Lighting calculations. Photometry and colorimetry
  • Energy efficiency and economics of lighting
  • LED Lighting. Photo biological risk from artificial lighting
  • Ergonomics and physiology of vision. Human aspects of lighting
  • Interior, exterior and road lighting. Quality of lighting. Light pollution
  • Renewable energy sources and Lighting
  • Management of lighting and renewable energy sources
  • Daylight design and architectural lighting
  • Common lighting aspects. Standards and legislation in lighting
