Description

Scope

We are delighted to announce that the International Symposium on Biosurfaces, Biotribology and Biomimics will be held in Chengdu, China between 30-31 May 2019. The theme of the symposium is “Crossing Frontiers in Bionic Design and Manufacturing”. It will report and discuss current research on biomaterials & biosurface/interface, biotribology, and bionic manufacturing and their application in engineering systems. The symposium will be arranged into 3 special sessions: (1) Biosurfaces (2) Biotribology and (3) Biomimics. There will be 3 keynote presentations and 6~7 invited speakers for each session. This multidisciplinary international symposium will allow participants to hear from leading scientists in the stated research areas, network with colleagues in academia and to explore future research directions of the contemporary biotribology field.

The symposium is supported by the journal Biosurface and Biotribology (BSBT). It publishes high quality papers on the surface and tribology associated with bio-systems. The scope includes all aspects of tribology-based science and technology on natural bio-surfaces, natural organs and tissues, body fluids, bio-materials and coatings, interfaces between biological tissues and medical, sport devices or articles for daily use as well as bionic tribo-designs. BSBT is indexed by Inspec, Ei compendex. Please refer to www.ietdl.org/bsbt for more information.
