Description
Dear Colleagues;
We are pleased to invite you to the Third International Workshop on Cooling Systems for High-temperature Superconductor Applications (IWC-HTS), which is being held from October 15-17, 2019 at GE Research’s innovation campus in Upstate New York. This is the first time that the Workshop is being held in the United States.
The purpose of the IWC-HTS is to provide a forum for in-depth discussions between cooling-system researchers and HTS application researchers about new cryocooler and cryoplant developments for HTS applications, as well as state-of-the-art methods for the optimal integration of HTS applications and cooling systems.
The bi-annual 2019 IWC-HTS conference has established and dedicated itself to bridge the technology gap between high temperature superconductor applications and their required cryogenic infrastructure.
Nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks and just a three-hour train ride from New York City, GE Research is very proud to be hosting this year’s event. The Center, which today has a world-class team of 1,000+ scientific, engineering and marketing minds (600 PhDs) delivering world-changing innovations across GE’s broad set of industries, has a more than 60- year history in superconducting applications and cryogenic engineering for medical imaging and high-speed superconducting generators.
