Technical tours with visits to manufacturing sites in Berlin:
Siemens (3pm to 4:30 pm)
Siemens Messgerätewerk is a historic factory complex located in the west part of Berlin. The factory was originally established in the early 20th century to produce measurement and control instruments for industrial and scientific applications. At Siemens Messgerätewerk technological solutions are developed and produced that control, monitor and protect equipment for the transmission and distribution of electrical power. The wide range of devices require more than 500 different printed circuit boards. The planned guided tour provides visitors with an in-depth look at the manufacturing process, as well as the scientific and engineering principles that underlie the design and operation of these devices.
We will return to BAuA at around 6 pm.
BMW Motorcycle Plant (2:30 pm to 4 pm)
The BMW Group is a global, well-known premium automobile as well as motorcycle manufacturer. The plant in Berlin is one of the most traditional locations, where the legendary BMW motorcycles are being made since 1969. More than 2000 employees work here, with a great deal of experience and an innovative spirit, and produce up to 800 of the bikes daily. At the plant, visitors can marvel at the finished models in the showroom, as well as visit the logistics center, assembly hall and production line.
