Travel to Tampere By Air

Tampere is well connected and really easy to reach. There are frequent flights each day via Helsinki, and direct flights from Stockholm, London/Stansted, Frankfurt/Hahn, Bremen, Milan/Bergamo, Edinburgh, Riga, Kaunas and Gdansk to the Tampere-Pirkkala International Airport.

The trip from Tampere-Pirkkala Airport to Tampere's city centre takes less than half an hour. There's also a direct bus connection to Tampere from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Buses leave at regular intervals at all hours. An other option is to take a taxi to Tikkurila Station and a train from Tikkurila to Tampere. The staff at the information desks at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport will be happy to help you.

Travel to Tampere By Train

Tampere is centrally located in Finland and easily accessible by train from all over the country. From Helsinki, regular trains roll to a smooth stop in Tampere in less than two hours. Services run approximately every hour.

Tampere is just 1 hour and 30 minutes by the new Pendolino trains from Helsinki and even little less from Tikkurila, the closest station to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

Travel to Tampere By Bus

Like the train, buses run from Helsinki to Tampere approximately every hour and make the journey in less than two.

In general, transport connections within Finland are of an excellent standard. The main roads are good, and public transport is punctual, efficient, comfortable and affordable.
