Fostered by mechatronics technology and the technology of the modern 3Cs (computer, communication and control), machines, processes and systems have become more advanced through high levels of automation, intelligence, reliability, precision, and performance. Control, automation and systems engineering are central to the advancement of modern engineering, and have evolved to the point that they require strong cooperation among industry, academia and laboratories as well as cross-fertilization among many closely related disciplines. To serve these needs, Institute of Control, Robotics and Systems (ICROS) was founded by the concerted cooperation and efforts of electrical, electronics, mechanical, aerospace, and chemical engineers. Today, ICROS is diligently leading the way at advancing these technologies as well as implementing them in various practical engineering problems.

Objectives

Scientific Journal : To be covered as a Science Citation Index journal - International Journal of Control, Automation
ddddddddddddddddddd and Systems (IJCAS is indexed in SCIE at present)
Scale : To rank high among domestic institutes
Informatization : To become a 24-hour information provision and operating system via the internet
Internationalization : To advance international cooperation through mutual interchange with relevant international dddddddddddddddddddddorganizations (SICE (Japan), IEEE R&A, CAA, etc.)
Social Aspect : To provide technology education to industrial organizations and R&D support through the Cooperative ddddddddddddddddSystem
Education : To propagate the relevant education of Intelligent Robot, Home-Network, Mechatronics, etc

1. Publication Business

- Quarterly publication of the scientific journal concerning the areas of Control, Automation and Systems (publishing
v approximately 3,800 copies at a time)
- Monthly publication of papers related to Control, Automation and Systems (publishing approximately 3,500 copies at a
v time)
- Bimonthly publication of International Journal of Control, Automation, and Systems (IJCAS)
v (publishing approximately 3,500 copies at a time): The International Journal of Control, Automation, and Systems (IJCAS)
v
is a bimonthly periodical that has been in publication since 2003. It is a joint effort of the Institute of Control, Robotics, and
v Systems (ICROS), and the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE). The purpose of the journal is to establish a
v high quality archival periodical presenting state of the art, recent advances and practical applications of control,
v automation, and systems engineering. The IJCAS is indexed/abstracted in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE),
v CompuMath Citation Index, Current Contents/Engineering, Computing & Technology, Compendex (Engineering Index),
v Korea Research Foundation Index.
- Publication of educational and professional books related to Intelligent Robot, Home-Network, Mechatronics, etc

2. Internationalization Business

- Expansion of established cooperative alliance with IEEE R&A, ISA, SICE, CAA, and CAAI
- Search for cooperative alliances with relevant international corporations beyond our borders, including Germany and
v Finland
- Increase in foreign membership and internationalization of English written papers (International Journal of Control,
v Automation, and Systems(IJCAS))
