Associations, Federations and Special Interest Groups

Aware of the importance of international cooperation for the advancement of science, INSTICC works closely together with several other national and international associations and is proud to welcome them as partners in its activities or to arrange initiatives in cooperation with them.

While several forms of partnership are welcome, INSTICC places special value in "Technical Co-Sponsorships", by means of which both associations support each other from a scientific perspective for their mutual benefit. Additionally, in this case, members of partner organizations benefit from the same registration conditions as INSTICC members.

Workflow Management Coalition

Founded in 1993, the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) is a global organization of adopters, developers, consultants, analysts, as well as university and research groups engaged in workflow and BPM. The WfMC creates and contributes to process related standards, educates the market on related issues, and is the only standards organization that concentrates purely on process. The WfMC created Wf-XML and XPDL, the leading process definition language used today in over 80 known solutions to store and exchange process models. XPDL is a process design format for storing the visual diagram and all design time attributes.

The Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents

FIPA is an IEEE Computer Society standards organization that promotes agent-based technology and the interoperability of its standards with other technologies.

International Neural Network Society

The International Neural Network Society (INNS) is the premiere organization for individuals interested in a theoretical and computational understanding of the brain and applying that knowledge to develop new and more effective forms of machine intelligence. INNS was formed in 1987 by the leading scientists in the neural network field.

Founded in 1979, the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) (formerly the American Association for Artificial Intelligence) is a nonprofit scientific society devoted to advancing the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines. AAAI aims to promote research in, and responsible use of, artificial intelligence.

euRobotics AISBL

euRobotics AISBL (Association Internationale Sans But Lucratif) is a Brussels based international non-profit association for all stakeholders in European robotics. euRobotics builds upon the success of the European Robotics Technology Platform (EUROP) and the academic network of EURON, and will not only continue the cooperation but will also strengthen the bond between members of these two community driven organisations. Thus, leading towards the establishment of only one sustainable organisation for the European robotics community as a whole.

The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society's objectives are scientific, literary and educational in character. Brazillian Society of Automation

Founded in 1975, Brazilian Society of Automatica was created with the primary objective of promoting science and automatic control technology in Brazil, in a broad sense, for all systems, whether physical, biological, social, economic, and also to be an important forum for researchers, students and professionals working in the various fields of automation and control. The SBA was created to be "the National Member Organization (NMO) of IFAC" for Brazil.

Sociedade Portuguesa de Robótica

The Portuguese Robotics Society (SPR) was founded in April 2006. The membership is open to individuals and institutions (academy and industry).
SPR main goals are to foster education, scientific research, technological development and applications (industry and services) of robotic systems in Portugal. SPR annual event is the Portuguese Robotics Open, including robot competitions for university and high school levels, as well as a technical conference.

IFAC - International Federation of Automatic Control

The INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF AUTOMATIC CONTROL, founded in September 1957, is a multinational federation of National Member Organizations (NMOs), each one representing the engineering and scientific societies concerned with automatic control in its own country. The aims of the Federation are to promote the science and technology of control in the broadest sense in all systems, whether, for example, engineering, physical, biological, social or economic, in both theory and application. IFAC is also concerned with the impact of control technology on society.

Associação Portuguesa de Controlo Automático

The APCA – Associação Portuguesa de Controlo Automático is a non-profit, technical and scientific association with private nature in which main goals is to promote and stimulate teaching, scientific research and technological improvement in the area of automatic control and instrumentation, in Portugal.
