The Health Care Engineering Systems Center (HCESC) provides clinical immersion to engineers and fosters collaborations between engineers and physicians. The goal is to use our deep expertise in the broad areas of Health Information Technologies, Sensing and Devices, Materials and Mechanics, and Human Factors/Industrial Ergonomics and Design (and other areas to be identified in the future) to develop collaborative projects which could be used for simulation in training of medical practitioners of tomorrow. We are partnering with the JUMP Trading Simulation and Education Center of the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center at Peoria, Illinois in an exciting new initiative, known as Applied Research for Community Health through Engineering and Simulation (ARCHES).

The Health Care Engineering Systems Center, within the Coordinated Science Laboratory, at the University of Illinois has an opening for a Research Scientist. The primary goal of the Research Scientist will be to initiate, manage, and support research activities at the Health Care Engineering Systems Center (HCESC), as well as the coordination and operation of research projects emerged from the research activities of the HCESC-Jump/ARCHES awards.
