On behalf of the IEEE Nano 2008 Organizing Committee, we would like to welcome you to this 8th IEEE International Conference on Nanotechnology. This flagship conference returns to the USA once again this year and is being held in the heart of the North American Sunbelt - Arlington, Texas. The IEEE Nanotechnology Council, Region 5, and the Fort Worth and Dallas sections are delighted to be this year's conference hosts.
The program co-chairs, technical program committee members, and the many paper and poster authors have together assembled a strong and exciting technical program for you covering some of the most important current, continuing, and emerging topics in the field today. This premier nanotechnology conference brings together you and your colleagues -- scientists, academics, and practicing engineers
-- from all over the world to engage in this international forum to promote, share, and discuss the various issues, developments, and successes in the rapidly expanding fields of nanotechnology.
Arlington, TX, this year’s conference venue, is located in the heart of the bustling North Texas Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex. DFW is the largest metropolitan area in Texas and the 4th largest metropolitan area in the United States. It is home to the highest concentration of corporate headquarters in the US and is sometimes referred to as the Silicon Prairie due to the large number of advanced technology, telecommunications, electronics, and computing firms making their homes in the area. Fort Worth has a rich history in the cattle and ranching industry, but it also nurtures the development of many advanced defense sector technology products. The areas’ museums, zoos, symphonies, and entertainment spots are world-class. Arlington is located in the middle of the metroplex and offers a central location from which to explore the rich cultural and entertainment attractions of this thriving area steeped in the traditions of the great southwest.
We hope you will enjoy your stay and we truly hope you will find this year’s nanotechnology conference informative, productive, and most of all enjoyable. Please enjoy your stay in the Sheraton Hotel, the conference hotel, and if there is anything we can do to help make your stay better, please do not hesitate to ask.
