IEEE is celebrating 125 years of Engineering the Future. IEEE Region 1 southern area, the New Jersey and New York chapters invited members and non-members to Engineer Their Future through a one day event where participants were given opportunities to network among themselves, enjoy technical tutorials, and listen to CTOs and university professors describe how Communications and Green Technologies are changing the way business is being done.

The event was FREE to IEEE members. Fees were minimal for non members - the cost of covering meals, and the fees could be applied against new memberships. This high value event was a great opportunity for every IEEE members to enroll other new members since IEEE organization provides financial incentives this year to the recruiting IEEE member for each and every new members that are enrolled.

Among the speakers were the CTOs of Telus, Telcordia, Triveni Digital, VPs from IBM Research, Avaya Strategy and Technology, Technology director of CERDEC. The chair of Computer Science at Columbia and the head of the wireless networking research lab at Rutgers also were featured speakers. Other talks included topics such as wireless in the MTA, Green Technologies, Next Generation Networks.
