Melange

Melange is the Annual event of the IEEE Student Branch of M.G University College of Engg. This event marks the convergence of various Technical contests, and Seminars and talks from industry proffessionals. It is the culminated result of a year of activities at the student branch and is the launching pad for future activities. The event hosts a variety of contests with attractive prize offerings, and also awareness sessions and talks on the latest and what’s happening in the industry.This year Mélange was a grander event, catering to a wider spectrum of students, providing awareness about IEEE and the latest in technology, also reaching out to the non-technical society and spreading awareness about engineering.

TechVeda Anniversary

September 2006 marked the first anniversary edition of TechVeda, with the inhouse Student Branch Newsletter reaching one year of circulation. The year has been one of growth in terms of circulation, magazine output and overall response to the IEEE. To mark the occassion we organized a special event. TechVeda Anniversary celebrations kicked off at the start of September with a C-programming contest, Sudoku contest, Polymer identification contest (Dept of Polymer Engg). The grand finale was on September 10th when we conducted a Quiz Competition.

The event was honoured by the presence of our chief guest, MR. Satheesh Babu, Chairman of IEEE Kerala Section Computer Society Chapter, Founder and Promotor of InApp Technologies at Technopark Trivandrum. He marked the occassion with a talk on "Network Computing and Application Security". The event was attended by more than 100 students besides the members of the IEEE Student branch and was a grand success.

The First anniversary of TechVeda has marked another milestone in the activities of our Student Branch. TechVeda will continue to publish on a monthly basis and try to increase circulation to more subscribers outside of the Student Branch.
