At
the very beginning…..
The IEEE Student Branch of Universiti Teknologi
Malaysia (UTM) is the first established IEEE student
branch in Malaysia. Our founder, Mohamed Fadil Abu
Samah is a fellow student from the Faculty of Electrical
engineering, UTM. He had graduated way back in 1999.
Our student branch operations room is situated in
block P06-114 of Faculty of Electrical Engineering,
UTM. |
Since then,
our student branch has started growing and at the
same time exploring its ability in organizing all
sorts of different activities to serve our student
members. Though we started small with less than
30 student members, we now have successfully recruited
more than 120 student members. |

We
are very lucky to have Professor Ir. Dr. Abdul Halim
Bin Mohamed Yatim as our branch counselor for he
has been providing us with invaluable guidance and
advice on how to better our student branch in every
way. |
In the year
2003, our student branch has finally been recognized
as an official society by the Student Affairs Department
in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Upholding the
spirit of IEEE, we hope to serve our members better
and at the same time further enhance IEEE’s
good name in our university. |
