The IEEE Student Branch of TESCo is constituted by students of the following careers: Environmental Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management since this are the ones that are held in our University.
Its main objective is to promote a comprehensive education in the students through the approach to the latest information about technology.
The board of directors is composed of a Chari, a Vice-chair and support committees.This basic organization is given by the IEEE but there is freedom to create as many commissions as the development from the branch requires.

A conference in the first days of the year 2009 was held by TESCo at its auditorium, promoting all the benefits that this institution of engineers has for students and teachers who are involved with a related career and certainly want to integrate at the same thereby the opportunity to form an IEEE student branch was presented.
Once completed this visit, TESCo sponsored 20 memberships to students who wanted to join the IEEE and after the selection of the students, the necessary procedures to conform and register officially the student branch of TESCo began.
We received the consistent support of the then coordinator of Student Branches of our section, Mr. Oscar Rojas Padilla, who visited us at TESCo for the right consultancy and solution of questions to be effective in the official registration at international level and growth of the branch once formed.
After obtaining the official registration at IEEE, the branch of TESCo (named Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Coacalco), members of it with the help of volunteers, students and teachers began to implement strategies with the necessary tools for the proper administration and organization of the Student Branch and once integrated the foundations of it, the first activities started such as internal competitions of minirobotics and informative conferences for all students and teachers from TESCo.
In this way the Student Branch has been working under a policy of continuous improvement coming nowadays to great achievements and above all continuing to develop projects with the support of the management area of the University and the support from IEEE.
On April 10th, 2012 was presented at TESCo the conference "IEEE as part of professional development" by M. in C. Dick Carrillo.
On October 21st, 2011 was held the annual programming contest called "IEEExtreme 5.0" a 24 hrs contest via online.
In July of 2011 a contest of armors made of pasta was held at the University, organized by the IEEE-TESCo Student Branch.
In 2011, the meeting of Regional Branches of IEEE Region 9 was held in Peru, where our Student Branch was present, with a successful participation.
In November 2011, members of the Student Branch attended for three days to the encounter of new technologies in Centro Banamex, Mexico City.
During the month of October 2010, a four-member delegation of IEEE-TESCo Student Branch participated in the Regional Meeting of the R9 branches in La Paz, Bolivia.
As a member of the IEEE we enjoyed opportunities such as taking a trip abroad. In February 2010 it was conducted a visit to the University of New Mexico(UNM), USA.
In October 2010, the Student Branch participated successfully in the Week of Science and Technology, held annually at TESco.
"EXPOROBOTS" was held at the Hotel Copacabana Acapulco, Guerrero from December 1st to Dec 3rd, 2010, where IEEE-TESCo SB participated with a stand of IEEE.
A project conducted by students of Mechatronics Engineering and members of the IEEE-TESCo SB implemented an automatic system for the projector located in the auditorium of the University.
In November 2009 in TESCo was developed a project that inluded the installation of antennas and routers per building in order to cover the campus with a Wi-Fi Internet network and security ip cameras.
It has been created project UDEPI consisting to update UDEPI building installations to make it a smart house through use of solar cells for lighting, LED lighting and windows with UV filter.
