Chapter Awards

The Chapter presents the following annual awards:

  • Outstanding Engineer Award: awarded to a local engineer and recognising their outstanding contributions to the power engineering profession.
  • IEEE PES WA Chapter Prize In Power Systems Analysis: awarded to the student with the highest mark in the unit ELEC5505 Power Systems Analysis. The prize was established by the IEEE PES chapter in recognition of the contribution by the then UWA Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the IEEE PowerCon 2000 Conference.
  • IEEE PES/PELS Prize: awarded to the Curtin student with the highest aggregate of marks in the two units ELEN3001 Power Systems Analysis and ETEN 3003 Power Electronics.

The Western Australia Chapter has received the following awards from IEEE PES:

  • 2022 IEEE PES Outstanding Chapter Award (based on 2021 performance)
  • 2001 IEEE PES Outstanding Chapter Award (based on 2000 performance)
