Welcome to IEEE Magnetics Society Central Iowa Chapter

IEEE Magnetics Society, Central Iowa Chapter is a newly formed local chapter for IEEE Magnetics Society members in Iowa. The chapter was chartered in the beginning of 2013.

The chapter will organize the IEEE Magnetics Society Distinguished Lectures, Guest Lectures from experts in magnetics, and local chapter meetings in Ames, Iowa. The chapter also encourages many young people to join IEEE and Magnetics Society and help us create a common platform to discuss various magnetics topics.

The IEEE Magnetics Society website also displays research in magnetics by various groups from Central Iowa including the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Iowa State University, Ames Laboratory, Center for Non-Destructive Evaluation.

Join IEEE Magnetics Society

There are three ways to become a member of the Magnetics Society of the IEEE. Please refer to the explanations below for various membership options.

1. Become a Memberof the IEEE and add the Magnetics Society by paying the additional society fee.
2. Become a Student Member at much reduced rates if you are a student.
3. Become an Affiliate of the Magnetics Society. A Society Affiliate is generally a non-IEEE professional who is a member of a professional organization other than IEEE who would benefit from affiliation with one of IEEE's Societies. For an annual Affiliate fee paid to IEEE plus the individual Society's membership dues they are admitted to the membership of that Society. Affiliates are not full IEEE members and are not entitled to any IEEE benefits reserved for IEEE members only. All Affiliate benefits and services derived come directly from the Society they are affiliated with.
