Founded in 1988

The Oakland/East Bay Chapter of the IEEE Communications Society, commonly known as OEB ComSoc, was founded in 1988. It is the youngest of the three Communications Society Chapters in the San Francisco Bay Area Council (SFBAC). The other two are the San Francisco Chapter and the Santa Clara Chapter.

Area Covered

The Chapter covers the Oakland-East Bay area and a portion of the central valley, including student chapters at the University of California-Berkeley and the California State University-Fresno.
