IEEE Canada Vehicular Technologies Awards

General Two travel grants each year, each one not to exceed $1,200.

Background The Vehicular Technologies Conference ’98 generated a surplus, a portion of which was given to IEEE Canada with the stipulation that the funds be used for the benefit of students.   IEEE Canada presented the first pair of awards in 2003, then transfered the funds as a directed gift to the IEEE Canadian Foundation to continue this annual award.



  IEEE Canada Vehicular Technologies Travel Grant

Purpose To support IEEE student members in Canada attending Canadian Universities or Colleges who wish to attend and present a paper at a Vehicular Technologies Conference or other IEEE Conference related to Vehicular Technologies.

Eligibility Candidates for this grant shall be IEEE Student members or IEEE Graduate Student members in good standing in a Canadian University or College, independent of the level of study (college, undergraduate or graduate).

Basis of Selection
Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
  1. Sponsorship of the conference/activity by the IEEE
  2. Presentation of a paper accepted by the conference committee
  3. Relevancy of the paper presented to Vehicular Technologies technical field(s)

The Decision Process The Grants Committee of the IEEE Canadian Foundation will review and rank the applications, and forward their recomendations to the Board of Directors of the IEEE Canadian Foundation, who will determine the recipient at their next meeting.

Payment Each travel grant will reimburse up to 50% of actual travel costs, based on submitted receipts in accordance with the current IEEE Canada Travel Expenses Guidelines.   Original receipts must be mailed to: Dan Coode, ICF Treasurer, 2013 Easthill, Saskatoon SK S7J 3C6.

Report All grant recipients are required to submit a report as a condition of accepting the grant - details.

Application The deadlines are March 15, August 15, and November 15.   The recipient will be notified within a week following the Board meeting.   Application is to be made using the "applications and nominations" link on the left side of this page.
