The IEEE Winnipeg WIE presents Building a new Generating Station: Wuskwatim.
Manitoba Hydro is building the first new generating station in Manitoba since the 1990s. Come and experience the trials, excitement, successes and challenges of building a 200MW, 3 unit generating station in northern Manitoba. The generating station is unique in Manitoba in that it is flooding less than a square kilometer of land.
Terry Armstrong, Manager of Wuskwatim Construction lives in the far north, travelling down on breaks, and we are lucky enough to have him come to present to us. Hear directly from the department manager overseeing construction!

The Winnipeg IEEE WIE Affinity Group presents a presentation and tour of New Generation of PET imaging - Siemens Eclipse RD cyclotron.
Details:
* Part 1- Presentation: An introduction to positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, overview of what a cyclotron is and how it works, and description of how the cyclotron products are used in clinical and research studies.
* Part 2- Tour of the cyclotron facility.

Early 2010
Tour the Motorcoach Industries hybrid bus manufacturing facility in Pembina, North Dakota.
Guided tour presented by Rich Gatheridge, MCI. Mr. Gatheridge will lead the group through the Motor Coach plant
This tour is an all inclusive event, including breakfast and lunch.
We Will depart St. Vital Mall by bus at 7:00am, and have breakfast on the bus. We will return by 4:30pm.
Cost: Students: $50, IEEE Members: $75, Non Members: $90
We only have 40 spaces, register early!
