During our Centennial Year, Saskatoon is full of special activities, even in
the early spring....note---the weather can be either warm and pleasant or
cool and breezy during the first week of May!!

Come early and enjoy the STARS ON ICE "Imagination" show with Kurt Browning, Jamie Sale'/David Pelletier, and Todd Eldridge on the evening of April 27,

or

Stay a few days extra and attend "GREASE WITH FRANKIE AVALON" show from May 6 to 8.

Also during May 6 and 7 is the annual VESNA FESTIVAL, showcasing Ukrainian culture and celebrating the immigration of many thousands of people with Ukrainian heritage to Saskatchewan during the last century.

On May 1, the Saskatoon Symphony presents a concert at the Centennial
Auditorium, and,

From April 1 to May 28, enjoy the comedy of "A PERFECT WEDDING" at the OFF BROADWAY DINNER THEATRE.

From April 30 to May 1, throttle up at Saskatchewan's largest Motorcycle
Show CYCLEMANIA, in Saskatoon, or watch the HubCity Radio Control Club's HELIFLY event just outside the city, also April 30/May 1.

Around Saskatoon are many sites for recreation and learning.
One of the oldest and most extensive archeological digs for Aboriginal
history is located at Wanuskewin Heritage Park, just 5 km outside Saskatoon.
Wanuskewin features displays of Prairie Aboriginal culture and history, as
well as outdoor trails through the landscape used for over 5000 years.
Enjoy authentic native foods and delicacies at the Restaurant, or pick up
some treasures at the gift shop.

Saskatchewan was also the home of John Diefenbaker, one of Canada's most illustrious Prime Ministers. Visit the Diefenbaker Centre and see a display of Australian Aboriginal Art, open until May 1. Also see memorabilia of Diefenbaker's era as a Saskatchewan lawyer and politician.

In the History column, also visit the Western Development Museum, with
displays of historic machines and life styles of the last century.

If you want to relax and enjoy the outdoors, play a round or two on one of
the many golf courses in Saskatoon or its surrounding communities. Or, take a walking tour at the Beaver Creek Conservation area to experience a range of prairie environments, from grassland to streams and woods.
