IEEE 125th Anniversary Celebrations 2009 Organizers: IEEE - The University Of Faisalabad Venue: The University of Faisalabad Proposed Date: 31 October Theme: Engineering Pakistan Future
Celebration Events Cake cutting ceremony As 2009 is the 125th year of IEEE came into existance. So to celebrate its 125th birthday a beautiful cake will be cut by any senior IEEE member. It will enhance the beauty of the celebrations Panel discussion In this session some of the most experienced members from academia and some from industry will be seated together. The topic of discussion would be “How IEEE served the society in past 125 years”. Participating members will emphasize on the role of IEEE in society, about important changes happened in practice due to IEEE. ISBIR initiative Presentation on ISBIR initiative in Pakistan. ISBIR stands for IEEE Student Branch and Industry Relationship. This project is to decrease the gap between academia and industry which is major problem facing by whole Pakistan. Seminars Seminar of speakers from telecom industry on topic of future challenges for engineers and one of senior IEEE member will be held for student professional

Detailed view of events Main goal of TECH HAWKS is to give students a chance to show off their engineering talent in displays of their senior projects and by competing in contests that tested their thinking, ideological, sketching, Gaming and engineering skills. Best Internet Search Competition Now a day’s internet has become a very important educational tool which helps the students to collect relevant data in minutes which was impossible to look up in books or takes a long time to search. So in this competition phase student‘s searching capability is checked that how precisely or how fast he searches relevant data and utilize internet in right direction Speed wiring Competition Practical work along with theoretical work is the most impotrtant issue in engineering. This phase is included to check the practical work of students with their speedy work. As students will be assigned with a practical circuit to implement. Quiz Competition In this competition student’s brains will be checked, also their intellectual skills will be checked. As in engineering we should have a lot of knowledge about new technology and basics of the technologies. So students will be asked some technical questions along with basics of engineering. Gaming Competition Extracurricular activities are compulsory part of educational life; it is not complete without extracurricular activities. In this students will be checked in their intellectual skills and thinking from different angles about gaming. Best student project Competition Final year project is compulsory part of engineering. It is the examination of practical capabilities of a student that how he thinks practically. So in this competition project will be selected which will have more practical idea. Sketching Competition Every person has its own view to see the things from different angles. Some are too unique. This competition will judge the best thinking point of view of a student. That will think more positively. Innovative Engineering Idea Competition Different minds dive different technological ideas. Some technology ideas are those which have potential to change the future. Such ideas are need to be appreciated so this competition will give opportunity to those ideas to come forth.
