Mistakes in Resume Writing

Most of fresh graduates these days often do common mistakes in writing resume or cv. There are no certain of perfect guideline in writing a resume. But still, the purpose is to make the reader impress and interested in our resume. Bear in mind that now is 2005. Certain styles or format used 10 years ago might be inappropriate to used. Among common mistakes done in resume writing are:

Format

As mentioned earlier, old style of writing seems to be inappropriate. Certain details need to be emphasized more to show your unique professional strengths.

Just Facts..

Most of us would like to mention our past responsibilities in each title hold earlier. Interviewers or companies are more interested in accomplishment or achievements. Forget about bragging. Just be honest.

Long History

These days, employers interested in relevant experience you had in the past 10-12 years. Don't even bother to mention whether you are a prefect or librarian in primary school. Remember to highlight previous job if any.

Sloppiness

Remember, looks count! Printing your resume neatly and on appropriate paper is a must. Be sure that the printed resume that will be sent in proper condition.

Cover letter

The most important thing is the cover later. Don't just send your resume without notifying why you send it. Make it clear, to whom or for what specific job would like to be applied.
