Travelling to Oxford
Oxford is easily accessible by trains from London Paddington (1 Hour), Birmingham (40 minutes), Manchester, Edinburgh, and other stations. To check the train timetables, please visit National Rail. Train tickets can be booked online with TheTrainLine and are often cheaper if you book well in advance.
For delegates travelling by air, the airports at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton are reasonably close. Buses from Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport to Oxford run very frequently, and regular coach journeys from Stansted and Luton Airports are run by National Express. There are long distance coach services to Oxford that stop in Oxford town centre, and are within 10 minutes walk of Magadalen college.
If you would like to drive to the conference, please let us know on the registration form so that we can arrange a parking permit for your car.
Getting to Magdalen
From Oxford train station, there are buses running to the High Street, which is within short walking distance of Magdalen College. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the train station.
Visiting Oxford
The Wikipedia page for Oxford has extensive information on things to see in Oxford. Oxford's tourist attractions include the numerous colleges of the university and Blackwells book store, which boasts the largest single room devoted to book sales in Europe. If you have extra time before or after the conference, London is easily accessible by train or coach. Oxford has a wide range of restaurants, cafes and pubs as well as shops in the pedestrianised area around Cornmarket Street.
