Bio:

Lane is one of Eaton/Cutler-Hammer's Application Engineers located in Houston.  Eaton Corporation is a  multi-billion dollar diversified industrial manufacturer with over 50,000 employees world wide.  Lane's last assignment with Eaton was as the Sales Manager of the Houston Service Center for custom motor control centers and explosion proof enclosed control.  Prior experience includes Westinghouse, before being acquired by Eaton, Siemens Energy and Automation, Gould and I-T-E Electric as well as Graybar Electric in San Antonio.  Lane received his engineering degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1971.

   
Presentation:

Power System Grounding Characteristics
The presentation will cover the following types of Power System Grounding; Ungrounded, Solidly Grounded and three types of Impedance Grounding and the advantages and disadvantages of each.  Safety, National Electric Code requirements, and operational considerations, such as continuity of service,   will be discussed.

Directions to Blue Star:

From I-35 take the South Alamo exit (spur 536) (on the lower level) and turn east. (That is left if you were southbound and right if you were heading northbound on I-35.)

Pass through two lights at Flores and Main and then take the left fork of the Y following S. Alamo. Turn right into the Blue Star complex just pass the bus stop. The restaurant is in the back of the first building.

Note: If you take the wrong miss the fork, you will be on Probandt Street heading south. Turn around and go back to the intersection and turn right at S. Alamo.
