Speakers: José Escamlla and Curtis B. Cryer, CPS Energy
   
About the Speakers:

José H. Escamilla is Manager of Reliability and Power
Quality for CPS Energy. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. Mr. Escamilla is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and has Fifteen years plus of utility related experience including transmission planning, transmission & distribution systems operation, service restoration, and power quality. Mr. Escamilla is a certified Power Quality Professional by the Association of Energy Engineers.

Curtis B. Cryer is a Power Quality and Reliability Engineer for CPS Energy. He graduated from the Oregon State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering majoring in Power Systems and Instrumentation. Mr. Cryer is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon and has over thirty years experience in power systems. Experience includes AC power distribution systems design and operation, voltage

   
Presentation: Compatibility of the Electric Power Source and Load
   
Abstract: The presentation discusses the characteristics of power sources and loads, why such knowledge is essential for engineers who work to match source and load characteristics, and how proper matching of these characteristics can reduce overall power consumption and costs. Questions and discussion are encouraged after the presentation.
