The 2017 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2017) was held in Vancouver, Canada, September 24–28, 2017. The conference was a tremendous success with record-breaking registrations and attendance. Thank you all for your contributions! And we hope to see you all again in Madrid at IROS 2018!
The theme of IROS 2017 was “Friendly People, Friendly Robots”. Robots and humans are becoming increasingly integrated in various application domains. We work together in factories, hospitals and households, and share the road. This collaborative partnership of humans and robots gives rise to new technological challenges and significant research opportunities in developing friendly robots that can work effectively with, for, and around people.
IROS was 30 years old in Vancouver! To celebrate this important milestone, we solicited from the IROS community mementos in IROS history. The contributions were in the form of photos, videos or other memorbilia. They were organized, and are displayed at the Vancouver Convention Centre as well as through various soical network tools: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (see top of this page).
