The 2014 IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Robotics and its Social Impacts (ARSO2014) will be held on September 11-13, 2014 in Evanston, Illinois, USA. ARSO is a single track workshop, aiming to provide world class researchers, engineers, investors, economists, and representatives of industry and government with a forum to discuss cutting-edge robotics technologies, business opportunities, and other impacts on human society. Topics range from psychological and philosophical aspects over interaction and communication to technological systems and architectures. Applications of robots are highly encouraged, including, but not limited to, in manufacturing, healthcare, service and assistance, rescue, entertainment, and education. The workshop will be held in conjunction with IMTS2014 (International Manufacturing Technology Show 2014) and IROS2014, both of which will take place in downtown Chicago, about one hour away from Evanston by subway or half an hour by car.
Scope
All cutting-edge robotics technologies, including their business opportunities, and present and potential impacts on the human world. Applications of robots are highly encouraged, including, but not limited to the following:
- Manufacturing,
- Healthcare and medical applications,
- Service and assistance,
- Search and rescue,
- Entertainment,
- Education, and
- Common platform.
