Over the last decade, digital system and networking technologies have sustained tremendous growth rates and have revolutionized many aspects of the scientific and commercial world. The compounding complexity of digital devices, the expansion of networks in size and diversity, and the ever increasing dependency of business and government sectors alike on networked, possibly shared, infrastructures has undoubtedly resulted in a pressing need for advanced design and analysis tools for managing and securing the complex systems that have emerged.
The goal of the special session is to bring together engineers, scientists and researchers to share technical and scientific findings and visions. The session will address issues pertaining to the modelling, analysis, managing, and control of emerging discrete event systems of interest, and aims to consider both theoretical and practical problems in discrete event systems of interest, as well as highlight emerging applications from different domains.
